Which Browser Should I Use?

The short answer is: the one that works best.

We are often asked "which browser should I use?"  Often (and ideally) a website, web-based application, tool, or service will work on any browser.  But in many cases, one browser is slightly better than another for a particular site or service.  In some cases, particularly with very specialized services or tools, a single browser is clearly the best or only option.

It is necessary to keep multiple browsers updated on your computer, for ready use.  If you have trouble with a website or service in one browser, try another.

Also, bear in mind that some web services or applications work best within their own downloadable client, instead of a web browser.  This can include, for example, GoToMeeting or Google Earth.

Here's a list of web applications and services that either require you to use a single browser, or we believe work best in a particular browser.

In a few cases, this list below shows you your only option.  But in most things we're suggesting a best choice for a particular task.  (For example, Google Apps work very well in Firefox and Safari, as well as Chrome, but Chrome does offer some additional features for advanced users.)
