ArcGIS Pro download, install and sign in.

This page will walk you through Downloading ArcGIS, Installing ArcGIS and signing into ArcGIS Pro Desktop App. Each process has been borken down into the 3 dropdowns below.

 ArcGIS Pro is available to Canisius students for free. You will have access to this service until your Canisius email address is deactivated.

 

  1. Go to https://canisius.maps.arcgis.com/

     

  2. Once there, click the “myCanisius” option.

 

 

  1. When the MyCanisius landing page loads, sign in.

 

  1. The first time you login, it will load to the “My Profile” screen but you can ignore it and hit the “Home” button or navigate to one of the options listed above.

     Note: After your initial login, your “Home” screen will be displayed in future logins.

 

  1. Next click on the the silhouette in the upper right of the page and select “My Settings” from the drop down.

  2. Click “Licenses” on the left hand column and scroll toward the bottom of the list for the ArcGIS Pro installer. Click “Download ArcGIS Pro” for the installer.

  3. Find the downloaded file, click through the installer to install. Check the dropdown below for more detailed information on how to install.

 

These notes are mostly taken from the Esri support page regarding installing ArcGIS. As you click through the installer, you can leave everything at its default settings and proceed to the next section of the installer.

  1. Browse to the location where you downloaded ArcGIS Pro, and double-click the executable file (.exe) to start the installation proces

  2. Accept the destination folder to which files are extracted or click Browse to browse to a different folder and click “Next”.

  3. You will see some files start to be extracted as soon as you finish step 2. When it is completed, a message indicates when the files have been successfully extracted. The Launch the setup program check box is checked by default. Click “Close” to proceed to the next step.

  4. Click “Next”.

  5. Click “Next”.

  6. Click the circle next to the “I accept the master Agreement” and click “Next”.

  7. Click “Next”.

  8. You can uncheck the box regarding the Esri User Experience Improvement program if you would like. Then click “Install” and wait for the install to complete.

     

     

  9. Leave the “Run ArcGIS now” box checked and click “Finish”.

     

  1. When ArcGIS launches, sign in my selecting the “Your ArcGIS organization’s URL.

  2. On the next screen, type in “canisius”, check the “remember this URL” box, and click “Continue”.

  3. Click on the “MyCanisius” box and our sign in page should load.

  4. Once you sign in, ArcGIS should launch.
