Reverting to an older version of Firefox
Given the aggressive new release schedule of Firefox, ITS is unable to assure complete compatibility with the newest versions of Firefox with all of the web-based software on campus. If you computer has been upgraded to a newer version than what is currently supported, we recommend that you revert to an older, supported version. /wiki/spaces/ARCHIVEPAGES/pages/19824775.
For Windows users, you can simply re-install the older version of Firefox, and it will replace the newer version automatically.
For Mac's, we recommend that you delete the new version from your computer prior to installing the older version. To do this, download a supported version of Firefox first. Then, you'll need to go into your Applications folder, and move Firefox to the trash. Finally, install a supported version.
Once you've installed a supported version, we highly recommend that you adjust the settings such that Firefox will no longer automatically update. You can find directions to disable auto-updating here.
If you need assistance with the process, please contact the ITS Help Desk. They can be found on the first floor of the library, or you can contact them via email at helpdesk@canisius.edu or via phone at (716)888-8340.
