Progress Toward Degree Completion

PROGRESS TOWARDS DEGREE COMPLETION AUDIT PROCESSING

Components of this process:

   Banner shell script:  $REGLIB/regr254.shl

SQL run by shell script:       $REGLIB/regr253.sql

Bars Batch:                          #681 Progress Towards Degree Completion

Database Table:                    wreg507 holds output from sql for reporting

   Infoview Report:                 regr508

  1. Each night the student population table (wreg500) is reloaded.   However, if you need to refresh the population, run regr250 from banner.

From the main screen, enter regr250 in the GO TO… field.

The following screen will be displayed:

Use Next-Block to move the cursor to the Submission portion of the screen.  Click Save.  A sequence number will be displayed in the lower corner of the screen when you SAVE.

  1. Until a decision is made to have the “PROGRESS TOWARD DEGREE COMPLETION” section show on students’ audits, $DEGCMP and DEGDATE will be hidden from view in DARwin.  Therefore, before beginning the batch audit process for this reporting, $DEGCMP and DEGDATE will need to be “unhidden” and then hidden again after the reporting is completed.

  1. Run Bars batch #681 (Progress Towards Degree Completion).  Note:  This audit may need to be changed to identify the correct population.  Wait until that is complete before continuing.   This will populate all the audit tables required to analyze the data and produce the report.

  1. Run script regr254 from banner.

From the main screen, enter regr254 in the GO TO… field.

Use Next-Block to move the cursor to the Submission portion of the screen.  Click Save.  A sequence number will be displayed in the lower corner of the screen when you SAVE.

This process can take approximately 10 minutes (longer if the batch audit is set to qualify many students).   An email is sent to Deborah Prohn and Pamela Dart indicating completion and includes the log file:

The log file should look like this:

It should contain no error messages.  At this point loading of the data is complete.

  1.  Run Business Objects report regr508
