Course Waivers
Entering Waivers for MBA, BANM, CLMC, FING, NTR, SPE1, DAT and CYB/DCY1/DCY majors
In Banner, go to the SOATEST screen.
Enter the student id number or look them up using the appropriate process.
Click Go. The SOATEST screen appears as below:
Insert a new row in the Test Score Information portion of the screen at the top by clicking on the Insert button at the top.
Insert the appropriate code for the course you wish to waive.
Clicking on the ellipse will give you a list of values.
MBA major waivers are as follows:
B601 - BUS 601 is waived (.5) My Personal Brand
B602 - BUS 602 is waived (.5) My Personal Leadership Plan
B603 - BUS 603 is waived (0) My Path Forward
M501 – MBA/ISB 501 is waived
M502 – MBA/MGT 502 is waived
M503 – MBA/ECO 503 is waived
M504 – MBA/ECO 504 is waived
M505 – MBA/ACC 505 is waived (3.0) Financial Accounting
M506 – MBA/MKT 506 is waived
M507 – MBA/MGT 507 is Waived
M508 – MBA/FIN 508 is Waived
E511 - ECO 511 is Waived (1.5) Macroeconomics
M512- MGT 512 is Waived (1.5) Principles of Management
M610 - ACC 610 is Waived
E606 - ECO 606 is Waived
E609 - ECO 609 is Waived
F608 - FIN 608 is Waived
L603 - LAW 603 is Waived
M604 - MKT 604 is Waived
M605 - MGT 605 is Waived
M607 -MGT 607 is Waived
You must also add WAMBA and the total number of credit hours to waive. Please note: the WAMBA value must represent a total of all courses waived for the MBA degree. Be careful to note if a prior waiver was given and a value is in WAMBA, it will need to be changed to represent the TOTAL number of credit hours to be waived. 18 credit hours is the maximum.

E511 - ECO 511 is Waived (1.5) Macroeconomics
M512- MGT 512 is Waived (1.5) Principles of Management
You must also add WABANM and the total number of credit hours to waive. Please note: the WABANM value must represent a total of all courses waived for the BANM degree. Be careful to note if a prior waiver was given and a value is in WABANM, it will need to be changed to represent the TOTAL number of credit hours to be waived. 9 credit hours is the maximum.
CLMC (Clinical Mental Health Counseling ADCERT)
Add WACLMC to reflect the total number of additional credits needed on the audit to meet certification requirements. 12 credit hours is the maximum.
FING(Finance/MS) major waivers are as follows:

M503 – MBA/ECO 503 is waived (3.0) Statistics for Managers with Excel
M505 – MBA/ACC 505 is waived (3.0) Financial Accounting
E606 - ECO 606 is Waived (3.0) Managerial Economics
F608 - FIN 608 is Waived (3.0) Corporate Finance
M620 - FIN/MBA 620 Waived (3.0) Investment Management
You must also add WAFING and the total number of credit hours to waive. Please note: the WAFING value must represent a total of all courses waived for the FING degree. Be careful to note if a prior waiver was given and a value is in WAFING, it will need to be changed to represent the TOTAL number of credit hours to be waived. 16 credit hours is the maximum.
Applied Nutrition major waivers are as follows:
A502 – ALH 502 is waived
- No value representing credit hours is required. Assumed to be 3 credits.
SPE1 major waivers are as follows:
EFOR – Foreign Language requirement is waived
- No value representing credit hours is required. Assumed to be 3 credits.
DAT major waivers are as follows:
DDOM – Domain Elective 1 is waived
DDOM2 – Domain Elective 2 is waived
C501 – CSC 511 (CSC 501) + CSC 511L (501L) are waived
C502 – CSC 512 (502) + CSC 512L (502L) are waived
C610 - CSC 610 is waived
D501 – DAT 501 is waived (Note: remove after fall 2024; replaced by BAN 609)
D513 – DAT 513 is waived (use this code for CSC 610)
M500 – MAT 500 is waived
B609 - BAN 609 is waived (replaced DAT 501 in fall 2024)
If you add any of the above codes with a test score = 100, the course will automatically show on the GriffAudit as waived.
You must also add WADAT and the total number of credit hours to be waived. Please note: the WADAT value must represent a total of all courses waived for the DAT degree. Be careful to note if a prior waiver was given and a value is in WADAT, it will need to be changed to represent the TOTAL number of credit hours to be waived. 10 credit hours is the maximum.
CYB/DCY/DCY1 major waivers are as follows:
C501 – CSC 511 (CSC 501) + CSC 511L (501L) are waived
C502 – CSC 512 (502) + CSC 512L (502L) are waived
C500 = CYB 500 + CYB 500L are waived
C520 = CYB 520 + CYB 520L are waived
C530 - CSC 530 + CSC 530L are waived
C610 - CSC 610 is waived
D501 – DAT 501 is waived
D513 – DAT 513 is waived
M500 – MAT 500 is waived
M591 - MAT 591 is waived
You must also add WACYB and the total number of credit hours to be waived. Please note: the WACYB value must represent a total of all courses waived for the CYB degree. Be careful to note if a prior waiver was given and a value is in WACYB, it will need to be changed to represent the TOTAL number of credit hours to be waived. 15 credit hours is the maximum.

Add waiver in SCR002 Custom Data screen in DegreeWorks Controller, Configuration tab (SCR002, Add Record, save)
