Add PrintJob Printing to a Canisius-Owned Mac

Overview: Pre-Check

  • Be sure that your Macintosh is bound to Active Directory properly and connected to the internet via ethernet, Canisius Wireless, or Gryphon. If you do not use your Canisius username and password to log in, contact the ITS Help Desk before proceeding.
  • Check your Operating System. If you are running MacOS 10.7.x or higher, please proceed. Otherwise call the ITS Help Desk for assistance.

Step 1: Open System Preferences

Step 2: Select Printers & Scanners

Step 3: Click (plus) to Add Printer

Step 4: Find the Printer

Under the Default Tab:

  • All the network printers will appear. Use spotlight to search for Papercut if necessary
  • To add color, highlight: PAPERCUT00-MyColorPrintJob
  • To add grayscale: highlight: PAPERCUT00-MyGrayscalePrintJob

Note:

  • If the Papercut and other printers fail to appear, please restart your machine and run through the steps again.
  • If the problem persists, contact the ITS Help Desk (helpdesk@canisius.edu; x8340)

Step 5: Customize Settings

Once a printer is selected:

  • Name and Location will autofill
  • For Use, select Generic PostScriptPrinter
  • When finished, click Add

Step 6: Verify that it works

Upon printing a test page:

  • You may be prompted for your Canisius Credentials (see below for template) to authorize your print job
  • Check to box to save password in keychain
