To create and auto-score bubble-fill style paper quizzes and exams, ITS and COLI recommend Paperscorer, a web-based app. Individual faculty may use Paperscorer’s free version, although eventually they or their department may need to budget to pay for a premium license.
Canisius does not have a site license for Paperscorer, and faculty will need to seek support from Paperscorer, as neither ITS nor COLI has administrator access. However, we have some tutorials to assist faculty in getting started using Paperscorer:
Start by creating a class and roster in Paperscorer, so it can print answer sheets for your students and then grade scanned and uploaded answer sheets.
You can create generic answer sheets that require your students to bubble-fill in an identifier number. You supply those numbers, both to Paperscorer and your students. This might be best for very large classes.
You can create answer sheets for each of your students, with their name at the top. This can save time in class, and in grading.
Paperscorer Tutorial 4: Uploading and Grading
Upload student answer sheets so PaperScorer can grade student work.
