PrintJob on a Mac

Overview: Pre-Check

The following will only work if you are running MacOS 10.8.x or higher. Otherwise, please call the ITS Help Desk for assistance.

You will also need to be connected to the Canisius internet via ethernet or Wifi.

If on Wifi, make sure you are using Canisius Wireless and/or Gryphon.

Step 1: Open System Preferences

Click on the gear icon.
Click on the gear icon.

Step 2: Select Printers & Scanners

Click on the Printers and Scanners icon.
Click on the Printers and Scanners icon.

Step 3: Click  to Add Printer

Click on the plus in the lower left corner.
Click on the plus in the lower left corner.

Step 4: Add the "mygrayscaleprintjob" Printer

Search for "mygrayscaleprintjob" in the list, and click on it.

Once selected, make sure that "Secure AirPrint" appears under "Use" in the lower hand part of the window. If not, select it using

the arrows in the corner.

Then, click "Add", and you should see it appear as a print option in most applications.

Step 5: Add the "mycolorprintjob" Printer

Search for "mycolorprintjob" in the list, and click on it. It should be right next to "mygrayscaleprintjob".

Once selected ensure that "Secure Airprint" automatically fills the "Use" field

Lastly, click "Add"

Step 6: Verify that it works

Upon printing a test page:

  • You may be prompted for your Canisius Credentials (see below for template) to authorize your print:

    • Username: YourCanisiusUsername

    • Password: YourCanisiusPassword

    • Check to box to save password in keychain
