In D2L, you can set the Dropbox Submission Type to one of several categories. The steps on how to do this and descriptions of these categories will be listed below.
1 | Go to the Dropbox Tab in D2L. | |
2 | Click on the dropdown arrow to the right of the Dropbox folder you want to edit and choose Edit Folder in the list of options that appear. | |
3 | Click on the Submission & Completion Dropdown menu on the right-hand side of the webpage. | |
4 | There will be a category titled "Submission Type". By default, File submission is set. | |
5 | Click on File Submission to see the various types of Submissions. Here is a quick explanation of each: - File Submission: Default-- used to accept digital files, which can be further modified by restricting file types. The steps to do that can be found here.
- Text Submission: Students will get a textbox that they can type their answer into-- similar to Discussion Boards.
- On Paper Submission: a physical version of the assignment is given to the instructor. No submission required.
- Observed in Person: Allows the instructor to use the Dropbox to evaluate students. This can be used for in-person presentations, posters, or other similar activities. No submission is required.
