Do you still have ESET Antivirus Software?

The College discontinued the license for ESET Nod32 antivirus software during Summer 2010. If your personally-owned computer is currently running a version of ESET that was covered by the Canisius license, you may have noticed its icon has turned orange and have probably seen several pop-up notifications. In order to ensure that your personally-owned computer remains well protected, please follow the recommendation provided above as soon as possible. The section is entitled "Antivirus Software for Personally Owned PCs".

us.mcafee.com/virusInfo/Canisius College cannot supply security, antivirus or antimalware software for personally-owned computers.  However, ITS and COLI strongly recommend downloading and using security software to ensure your Windows or even Mac PC remains safe and free of malware, ransomware, or even troublesome adware.  Here's a few suggestions:

Windows PCs

Mac PCs

Mac has it's own onboard security application that runs in the background.  For extra security consider the following options

Whichever application you choose, downloading it is not enough.  You should be sure that the application is regularly updated, and occasionally run a scan on your files.
