DARS/uAchieve Client Install
Logon to computer as yourself
1) If not previously installed, install Oracle 9I client
2) Install the Oracle OBDC Driver:
A) From Programs Menu,
B) Select Oracle Installed Products,
C) start Universal Installer
Source: q:\banner\ora9iodbc\ora9206\stage\disk1\stage\products.jar
Destination: Name: Ora9i
Path: c:\oracle\ora9i
3) copy the following files:
Q:\ORA9ODBC\SQORA32.DLL TO C:\ORA9I\BIN
Q:\ORA9ODBC\SQORAS32.DLL TO C:\ORA9I\BIN
Q:\ORA9ODBC\SQRESUS.DLL TO C:\ORA9I\BIN
Q:\ORA9ODBC ODBC\HTML\OSBCRELNOTEUS.HTML TO C:\ORACI\ODBC\HTML
Q:\ORA9ODBC README.TXT TO C:\ORA9I\ODBC\HTML
Q:\ORA9ODBC\ODBC\MSG\ORAODBUS.MSG TO C:\ORA9I\ODBM\MESG
4) Some computers may have an issue with the registry for TNS-ADMIN. Check all regedit entries for ORACLE (HOME0-HOMEX) and Oracle_homes. (Do under your id, not the install account)

On the right side of the screen, right click
Select New
String Value TNS_ADMIN
Value: q:\banner\netadmin
(You can test this by using the command prompt to run TNSPING PROD. IF TNSNAMES can resolve prod to the production database, this is setup correctly)
5) Setup the ODBC connection to prod.

Control Panel
Administrative Tools
Data Sources (ODBC)
Create a system DSN using ORACLE DRIVER
Name: Prod
TNS Service: Prod
No userid
Test connection
6) From q:\banner\dars\client, double click on dw3.5.7_install.exe
7) Copy Darwin.ini to c:\program files\Miami University\Darwin_3_5_7 dir
8) From q:\banner\dars\security, double click on dwsecurity3.5.1_install.exe
9) Copy Darwin.ini to c:\program files\Miami University\Darwin security directory
10) Start Dars
