Adding Canisius Gmail Account to the iPad

  1. Before setting up Gmail on the iPad make sure to take the necessary steps of configuring your Gmail account
    1. Go to canisius.edu/ezmenu
    2. Go to option #32 (Google Password Reset (for IMAP/POP))
    3. Log into portal with Canisius Information
    4. In the text box under "Set POP/IMAP Password" type in your Canisius Password
    5. On the page that follows, click the link that says "Go to Google Apps Mail"
    6. This will take you to your normal Canisius Mail Center. From here, click the settings icon in the upper right hand corner (see image to right)
    7. Click the 'settings' option that appears in the drop down menu from the settings button 
    8. Click the tab across the top that is labeled "Forwarding and POP/IMAP"
    9. In the POP download section, select 'Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded)'
    10.  In the IMAP Access section, select 'Enable IMAP' 
    11. Then click "save changes" at the bottom of the page

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. After doing the necessary configuration of your gmail account, go to the settings tab on the main screen of the iPad 
3. Next choose the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" option under the 'Settings' options. Then select "Add Account" from the options that appear to the left of the 'Settings' options
4. Select Gmail from the list of options that appears
5. Next type in all of your email account information, making sure to use @my.canisius.edu after your assigned email. Then Click the next button. 
6. Canisius Gmail account should now be set up on the iPad. Click the 'Mail' icon to check your Gmail.
