Document contains instructions for setting up Chromebook to work on CanisiusWireless

You need internet access to complete the CanisisWireless connection so first connect to gryphon:

  1. Click the network icon in the lower-right corner of your screen
  2. Click Join other.
  3. Enter gryphon for the SSID
  4. Leave Security set to None
  5. Leave Password field blank
  6. Click Connect.
  7. Click on the Connect to Wi-Fi network dialog box in the lower right hand corner this will take you to the registration page
  8. Enter your Canisius username and password and click on Accept


1.  Download this file here on the Chromebook or copy it to your Google Drive account

2.  Open the Chrome browser and type chrome://settings/certificates into the address bar.

3.  Inside the Certificate Manager go to the Authorities tab and click on the "Import..." button at the bottom of the manager.

4.  Select Google Drive / Downloads / or your usb drive to find the certificate file


IMPORTANT: If the file does not show up in either list change the file type filter at the bottom of the page to "All files" and search again.

5.  Select the certificate file and click on the Open button.

6.  Check the options to "Trust this certificate for identifying websites" and "Trust this certificate for identifying email users".

7.  Click the OK button.


You may need to check the settings for CanisiusWireless use the following as a reference:

You will need to fill in the

Authentication: PEAP
Inner Authentication: MSCHAPv2
Select the certificate for our network
Then enter username and password (canisius\) is not necessary
