D2L: Open Course Content as an External Resource
By default, D2L will attempt to open certain 3rd party edu-tools (ex., Google Drive files) in an internal UI. However, some of these tools may not work as expected. Here is how to open these items as an External Resources (i.e., on a new browser tab).

| 1 | Click on dropdown arrow (sometimes referred to as a “dropdown caret”) to the right of the activity we want to open as in an external tab. |

| 2 | Click on Edit Properties in Place in the menu that appears. |

| 3 | Check the box to the left of Open as External Resource. |
|
| 4 | Reload the page and click on the activity to make sure it opens as a new tab. |
