D2L: Copy Modules in a Course
In D2L, you are able to copy modules in your course. This may be useful if you have modules that you have set up in a way that you want to use as the basis for other modules. Copying modules in this way will copy all content within the module as well (i.e., Word Documents, PowerPoints, Quizzes, etc.) and any sub-modules within the module. Let's get started.
| 1 | First, go to the Content area of your D2L course. In this instance, I am using WORKSHOPS_CAN101E_Demonstrator_Course. Then click on Table of Contents in the menu on the left-hand side. |

| 2 | Next, find the grey button that says Related Tools. This is actually a dropdown menu. Choose Course Builder. |

| 3 | You will then be sent to the Course Builder page. A lot of it can be ignored as there are easier ways to handle most of the options found here. Find the module that you want to copy. Click on the dropdown arrow to the right of the Module's name. Then choose Copy Structure in the menu that appears. You can also copy individual submodules and content items by clicking on the plus sign to the left of the title of the module or submodule and following this step. |

| 4 | The menu will go away without really giving you any indication that anything has happened. However, it probably copied the module. In the top-level module of the list (this will likely have the name of the course as the title or something similar), click on the dropdown arrow to the right of the title. Choose Paste from the menu that appears. If you know exactly how many modules you are going to have and know that they are all going to share the same structure, you can repeat this step as many times as needed without needing to copy the module again. |

| 5 | Your list will update and you will see the module that you copied appear as the last item in the list. The recommendation here is to go back to the content area and see if everything has copied over correctly. |
