Subscribe to a Discussion Topic/Thread for Email Notifications

You can instruct D2L to email you a notification each time a class member contributes to a discussion forum, topic, or thread. Here's how:

First, go to the Notifications screen, available through the dropdown menu that appears when you click on your name in the upper right of almost any D2L screen.
Next, scroll down to "Discussions - new post in a forum, topic, or thread that I subscribed to in instant notifications." Check the box to the right, and click the blue "Save" button below.
Within the Discussions Area, click the dropdown menu caret next to a discussion forum, topic, or thread and in the resulting menu, click "Subscribe."
In the resulting dialog box, choose "Send me an instant notification," and then click the blue "Subscribe" button.
