D2L: Add Existing D2L Activities to the Content Area
In this tutorial, we go through how to add existing D2L Activities (Assignments, Discussions, Quizzes). In the following tutorial, we will add an Assignment, but the process is the same for Discussions and Quizzes.
Fall 2026: The Dropbox tool was renamed to Assignments and refers to the same tool.
| 1 | In a module in the Content area, click on the Add Existing Activities button. Then, select Assignments in the menu that appears. |  Showing Add Existing Activities> Assignments

| 2 | In the pop-up that appears, click on the Assignment we want to add to the module. We can create a new Assignment by clicking on the Create New Assignment button and/or edit Assignments by clicking the Manage Assignments link (which opens the Assignments page in a new tab). | Showing list of existing Assignments and other options.

| 3 | When we do, the Assignment will automatically be added to the very end of the module. If needed, we can click on the dots/squares to the left of the Assignment title and drag the assignment where we want it in the module or to a different module entirely. | Selecting the dots/squares and showing where we want to move the Assignment to Showing the line that appears that tells us where the Assignment can/will move to Showing the Assignment after we have moved it in the module.
