Audacity: Downloading Audacity
In this tutorial, we quickly go through how to download Audacity. We focus on Windows here, but the process is similar on macOS or Linux. See Audacity Support’s Downloading & installing Audacity article for in-depth instructions for macOS and Linux.

| 2 | Select the appropriate Operating System (OS). | Highlighting the Windows OS button

| 3 | Click on Download to the right of 64-bit installer. Note: You may select the Muse Hub Installer. This will add a few features to Audacity. However, we are simply looking for an easy audio recording software, which is why we are selecting the 64-bit installer. | Highlighting the Download button for the 64-bit Installer

| 4 | Go to where you downloaded the installer and double click on it. Make sure to click on “Yes” in the next pop-up. | Highlighting the Audacity executable file

| 7 | Carefully read the next pop-up. Then click on Next. | Audacity License Information pop-up

| 8 | Select the folder that we want to install Audacity (the default C:\Program Files\Audacity will be fine). Then click on Next. | Audacity install location pop-up

| 10 | The pop-up will update again, giving us a summary of actions that the program will take. Hit Install. Wait for the Installation to finish. | Installation Summary

| 11 | In the next pop-up, leave “Launch Audacity” checked and click on Finish. | Installation finish confirmation
