Rifle Teams

The Canisius College Rifle Team competes in 3-position small bore rifle and air rifle matches.  We shoot against teams all over the United States as part of the Mid Atlantic Rifle Conference and Western Intercollegiate Rifle Conference.  We also travel each March to the Intercollegiate National Rifle Club Championships.  If you are looking for close friendships, travel and competition you should consider joining the rifle team!   The club and team is open to all Canisius students.  Students can come to the range and train for the team or shoot for recreation.  Team recruiting occurs in early September but we can add shooters to the team all year long.  The coaches can train just about anyone to be a real good shooter as long as they are willing to put in the practice time.  We always welcome new shooters as well, no experience necessary!  For more information about the team and club please email the head coach Jared Westhoven at westhovj@canisius.edu

We are also host to the Golden Griffin ROTC Battalion.  The ROTC Rifle team is open to all ROTC Cadets.
