Financial Aid Eligibility: Course Requirements & Credits
Federal financial aid requires that students be making satisfactory progress toward their degree. Thus, for full-time undergraduate students, their schedule must include at least 12 credits that fulfill requirements for graduation. These requirements include:
- Courses used to fulfill core curriculum requirements (or for all-college-honors students, honors requirements),
- Courses required to complete their major(s) including courses to complete their concentration(s),
- Courses required to complete their minor(s),
- Courses required to meet the liberal arts and sciences content of the degree (90 credits for a BA and 60 credits for a BS), and
- Courses needed to meet the minimum of 120 credit hours for a bachelor degree.
