Transfer Credits

Core Curriculum and Transfer Credits. All matriculated students are expected to complete their foundation, field, attribute, and core capstone requirements at Canisius. Incoming freshmen may apply previously earned college credit to foundation and field requirements -credit will not be given for ENG 111 and attribute requirements. Freshmen may bring in up to 30 hours of credit completed in high school. Incoming transfer students may apply transfer credit to foundation, field, and attribute requirements. Credit will be given for ENG111. In general, transfers must complete their ethics and justice attributes at Canisius. In most cases, once enrolled at Canisius, courses taken at other colleges or for study abroad credit will be approved for major, minor or free elective credit only. Any exceptions are at the discretion of the Associate Deans. Grades do not transfer to Canisius from other schools –only credits.
