You can work with files in your Canisius Google Drive on your Android device.  This includes uploading to that Google Drive content, such as images or video, you created with your phone or tablet.

Android may look more or less different, depending on your phone or tablet.  The screenshots below are of an older Google Pixel 2 phone, running Android version 11.  Different versions of Android, on devices made by different manufacturers are connected to different service providers may look different, but the Google Drive app should work similarly across devices.

The Google Drive app is pre-installed on many Android devices, and if it is not already on your device, is easily downloadable from the Google Play App Store.

The Google Drive App

You probably have a Google account that is separate and unrelated to Canisius College, that’s attached to an @gmail.com email address.  The Google Drive associated with that account may already be installed in the Google Drive app.  That’s OK; it will not interfere with your Canisius Google Drive and you’ll be able to use either Google Drive separately from one another, in the same app on your device.

Installing Your Canisius Account as a Google Account

For the account user name, you use a special version of your email address at Canisius: username@my.canisius.edu.  Add the “my.” after the @ sign but before canisius.edu.

This is a special identifier that Google uses for your Canisius google account, and is necessary so the app can properly identify your account.
