Powering Up the Equipment
The Projector is controlled from the Sharp remote control.  Press the ON button to turn the projector on. Allow the projector time to warm up (approximately 30 seconds. The PC and DVD/VCR combo unit are located in the equipment Rack underneath the dry erase board at the front of the room, and must be powered up separately.  The wireless keyboard for the PC can be turned on by moving the power switch on the back of the unit to the on (Green) position.

Projector Standby
The projected image can be blacked out using the AV MUTE button on the Sharp remote. Pressing this button will place the projector in standby mode.  Simply press the button again to take the projector out of standby mode.

Volume
The SHARP remote also controls volume.  The audio level is adjusted by using the VOL+ and VOL- buttons.  

Resident Computer
Press the COMPUTER button on the Sharp to select the VGA connection on the projector.  Then select the button labeled Computer on the VGA switch in the equipment rack, underneath the desktop PC.  USB ports are located on the front of the Dell desktop near the power button.  Remember that the PC and keyboard need to be powered on independently.

Connecting a Laptop
The cables needed for connecting a laptop computer are found next to the equipment rack at the front of the room.

Using the VGA cable
 
1. Plug the VGA cable into your laptop's VGA port.

 

2. Plug the Ethernet cable into your laptop's network jack (if needed).

 

3. Plug the audio cable into your laptop's headphone jack.

 

4. Press the COMPUTER button on the Extron to view the Laptop on the projection screen.
 
5. Select the button labeled Computer on the VGA switch in the equipment rack, underneath the desktop PC.

5. Turn on your laptop's power.
 
6. If needed, set your laptop to display on a secondary display.
 

DVD Playback (via the DVD/VCR combo unit)

Press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the DVD/VCR combo unit and insert your disc into the disc tray. Press the VIDEO button on the Sharp remote to display the video from your DVD.  Use the playback controls on either the front of the unit or the JVC remote control to play the DVD.

VHS Playback (via the DVD/VCR combo unit)
Simply insert your tape into the DVD/VCR combo unit and press the Video button on the Sharp remote to display video from your DVD.  Use the playback controls on either the front of the unit or the JVC remote control to play the VHS.

Powering Down the Equipment
Press the Standby button twice on the Sharp remote to shutdown the projector.  

The resident computer and DVD/VHS combo unit must be powered off separately. Instructions for shutting down the computer are found below.
Be sure to remove any media from the equipment before shutting it down.
