In D2L, you can now give students extra time on quizzes for those who will need it for quizzes and exams. This is better than using Special Access because you can set this additional time once and not have to set it up individually for each quiz and exam. Per recommendations from Student Accessibility Services, if a student does receive extra time on an exam, it is usually 2x the amount of time on the exam, unless the exam is not timed or Student Accessibility Services informs you otherwise. To access Accommodations for your students, follow the steps below:

Go to the Classlist page on D2L.

Find the Student that you want to give an Accommodation to and click on the dropdown arrow to the right of their name.

In the menu that appears, click on Edit Accommodations, the last option in the menu. This will open up a pop-up menu called Edit Accommodations.

Check the box to the left of Modify Time Limit.

Where it says Multiplier of original quiz time, click the circle underneath so you can set the number of times you want to multiply the quiz amount by.

Instead of 1, delete that and type in 2.

Click on the blue Save button in the lower left.

You should see a new icon to the right of the dropdown icon. When you hover over it, it will inform you that this student has accommodation for quizzes. This symbol will appear when you go to grade quizzes and when the student either looks at the classlist or takes a quiz (other students will not see this). If you are not able to see this symbol, you may have to reload the webpage.
