DARS/uAchieve Client Install

 

Logon to computer as myselfyourself

 

1)      If not previously installed, install Oracle 9I 11g client

2)      Install the Oracle OBDC Driver:

 

A)    From Programs Menu,

B)    Select Oracle Installed Products,

C)    start Universal Installer

   Source: q:\banner\ora9iodbc\ora9206\stage\disk1\stage\products.jar

   Destination:  Name: Ora9i

                        Path: c:\oracle\ora9i

 

3)      copy the following files:

 

Q:\ORA9ODBC\SQORA32.DLL TO C:\ORA9I\BIN

Q:\ORA9ODBC\SQORAS32.DLL TO C:\ORA9I\BIN

Q:\ORA9ODBC\SQRESUS.DLL TO C:\ORA9I\BIN

 

Q:\ORA9ODBC ODBC\HTML\OSBCRELNOTEUS.HTML TO C:\ORACI\ODBC\HTML

Q:\ORA9ODBC README.TXT TO C:\ORA9I\ODBC\HTML

Q:\ORA9ODBC\ODBC\MSG\ORAODBUS.MSG TO C:\ORA9I\ODBM\MESG

 

         A)  Go to \\hogan01\images\Programmer Build\Current\OracleClientWindows\11gR2client_x32\client and copy the Oracle 11g client to c:\media and run setup.exe.   Install the runtime version.

         B)  Accept all the defaults during the installation.


 2)     Install the uAchieve client

         A) Go to \\hogan01\images\collegeSource and copy the uAchieve client to c:\media and Run the uac4.1.2_install.exe.

         B) Accept all the defaults during the installation.


3)    From the hogan01\images\collegeSource directory copy the Darwin.ini to:

         For 64 bit machines: C:\Program Files (X86)\collegeSource\uachieve41\Darwin.ini

         For 32 bit machines c:\program Files\collegeSource\uachieve41\Darwin.ini


4)      Some computers may have an issue with the registry for TNS-ADMIN.  Check all regedit entries for ORACLE (HOME0-HOMEX) and Oracle_homes.  (Do under your id, not the install account)

          HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

          SOFTWARE

         ORACLE

         HOME0-HOMEX

               On the right side of the screen, right click

         Select New

                        String Value TNS_ADMIN

                        Value: q:\banner\netadmin

          (You can test this by using the command prompt to run TNSPING PROD.  IF TNSNAMES can resolve prod to the production database, this is setup correctly)

 

 

 

5)      Setup the ODBC connection to prod.

            Start

            Settings

Control Panel

Administrative Tools

Data Sources (ODBC)

            Create a system DSN using ORACLE DRIVER

Name: Prod

TNS Service Prod

No userid

Test connection

6)      From q:\banner\dars\client, double click on dw3.5.7_install.exe

7)      Copy Darwin.ini to c:\program files\Miami University\Darwin_3_5_7 dir

8)      From q:\banner\dars\security, double click on dwsecurity3.5.1_install.exe

9)      Copy Darwin.ini to c:\program files\Miami University\Darwin security directory

   6)   Start uAchieve

Please note, the only persons currently with logon access are Deborah Prohn, Pam Dart, Tom Prince, Laura Zirnheld, and Lisa Fischer.    This access is based on the role granted in setup 5.


Troubleshooting:

ATL7.DLL error on startup:

    If you receive this error on startup, copy this dll from the hogan01\images\colegeSource directory to:

         For 64 bit machines:  c:\windows\SysWOW64\

         For 32 bit machines: c:\windows\System32\

         Reboot the machine and launch the applcation to verify that it is working.  Verify that the user can run and open an audit. 


If the user is unable to open an audit:

      Install the Adobe reader or the Adobe Suite of products to allow the user to open the pdf
