Adding Canisius Gmail Account to the iPad

  1. Before setting up Gmail on the iPhone make sure to take the necessary steps of configuring your Gmail account for IMAP.

You will need to log in and reset your IMAP Password in order for the process to be successful. (You should set this password to be the same as your regular Canisius Password to avoid confusion).

 

 

2. After doing the necessary configuration of your gmail account, go to the settings tab on the main screen of the iPad Image Removed
3. Next choose the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" option under the 'Settings' options. Then select "Add Account" from the options that appear to the left of the 'Settings' options Image Removed
4. Select Gmail from the list of options that appearsImage Removed
5. Next type in all of your email account information, making sure to use @my.canisius.edu after your assigned email. Then Click the next button. Image Removed
6. Canisius Gmail account should now be set up on the iPad. Click the 'Mail' icon to check your Gmail.

Before you begin

  • Ensure you are connected to wireless whether on campus (setup instructions) or off

  • Your device is running iOS 17 or greater

Step 1: Open Settings

Step 4: Enter your Canisius Credentials and select Next

Note: Be sure to enter '@my.canisius.edu' in your email address

Step 6: Select which Google Apps you would like to sync with your iOS device

Step 7: Begin using your Google Account in the Mail app
