Powering Up the Equipment
The LCD projector is controlled using the Extron Control Panel located on equipment cart in the front of the room.

Instructor's Podium
Extron Control Panel


Press the ON button to turn on the LCD projector. After pressing ON, wait until the button has stopped flashing before selecting the desired source button on the Extron Control Panel. The projector will not receive the command to switch until after it has finished warming up.


Volume
The adjustment of volume is done using the knob located on the Extron Control Panel. Rotate the knob clockwise to increase the audio volume or counterclockwise to decrease it. The LED lights to the left of the volume knob indicate the current audio level. The top light will flash red when the volume level is at 100%.

NOTE: Computers have their own volume controls which may need to be adjusted separately.


Resident Computer
Press the POWER button on the resident computer to turn it on. SH 064 is equipped with a rack-mounted HP computer. USB ports are located next to the computer's power button.

Once the computer has been powered up, press the PC button on the Extron Contol Panel to display the image on the LCD projector.  


Document Camera (ELPDC21)
The document camera is to the left of the podium. To use it, power it on, and press the Doc Cam button on the Extron Control panel.

The power button, zoom, and focus buttons are located on the base of the document camera.

Press the DOC CAM button on the Extron Control Panel to display the image on the LCD projector simultaneously.



Connecting a Laptop
The HDMI cable needed for connecting a laptop computer is found on the instructor's podium. Tethered to the HDMI cable is a display port adaptor that you can use if necessary.

Using the HDMI cable
1. Plug the HDMI cable into your laptop's HDMI port.
2. Press the HDMI button on the Extron Control Panel.
3. Turn on your laptop's power.
4. If needed, set your laptop to display on a secondary display.

Blu-ray/DVD Playback (via the Blu-ray Player)

This room is equipped with a Blu-ray player that can play both Blu-ray and DVD (discs.

1.  Turn on the Blu-ray player using the power button on the player, or on the remote control

2. Press the BLU-RAY PLAYER button on the Extron Control Panel.

3. The image from the Blu-ray player will now display.

4. Open the disc tray by using the eject button on the Blu-ray player.  Insert your disc and then press the same button again to close the tray.

5. Use the remote control to control the playback of your disc.

Recording With Zoom
The resident computer is connected to a web camera, the document camera, and the conference microphone.

To record, download Zoom from HERE, run the installer and then log in.  Start a meeting by clicking the New Meeting icon.  You can switch between the web camera and the document camera by selecting the up arrow next to the Stop Video icon at the bottom of the Zoom window.

For the best quality audio, make sure that the Revolabs microphone is selected from the up arrow next to the Mute icon.  The unit has a physical mute switch, if the lights on the corners are green the microphone is live, if the lights are red it is muted.  Press the switch to toggle between the modes.

To start the recording, click on the Record icon at the bottom of the Zoom window, and select either record on this Computer, or Record to the Cloud.  When finished, click the Stop Recording icon that replaces it during recording.  I

IMPORTANT: If you have recorded to the resident computer, after the meeting has ended, Zoom will convert the recording so you can access the files.  The file will then be saved to the users Documents folder.  You MUST save the files to your own drive before shutting down or restarting the resident computer, or the files will be erased.

Powering Down the Equipment
Press the OFF button on the Extron to turn off the LCD projector.

The resident computer must be powered off separately. Instructions for shutting down the computer are found below. 

Be sure to remove any media from the equipment before shutting down.

Please turn off the Blu-ray player if it is on, as well as the document camera.
