Powering Up the Equipment
The projector is controlled with the SMART control panel located on the bottom right of the SMART Board.  Press the Power button to turn the projector on, then allow the projector time to warm up (approximately 30 seconds).  The PC desktop, and DVD/VHS unit combo unit are located in the equipment rack, and must be turned on with their respective power buttons.  Projector StandbyPress the MUTE button on the wall control panel

to black out the projected image.  Simply press the button again to take the projector out of standby mode.Volume

The room audio level is adjusted by using the knobs on the Crown Amplifier located in the equipment rack.  In addition, computer volume is controlled by the laptop or desktop.  On the start bar, to the right side is a volume widget.  Clicking here will allow the volume level to be adjusted up, down, or muted.

Playing a DVD or VHS

  1. Insert your DVD or VHS tape into the DVD/VCR combo unit. Use the buttons on the front of the combo unit or the provided remote control to operate the DVD/VCR. The remote control should be located inside the drawer at the bottom of the equipment rack.
  2. Press the DVD/VCR button on the Extron switcher located in the equipment rack.
  3. If the image from the combo unit does not appear, make sure the projector is set to VGA-1.  Press the INPUT button on the SMART Board Control Panel until VGA-1 is displayed in the upper right corner of the projected image.

Connecting a Laptop - VGA

  1. Plug the VGA cable into your laptop's VGA port.  If your laptop does not have a VGA port, click on Laptop/Tablet Display Adapters to find out what type of adapter is needed to connect your laptop.
  2. Press the LAPTOP button on the Extron switcher located in the equipment rack.
  3. If the image from the laptop does not appear, make sure the projector is set to VGA-1.  Press the INPUT button on the SMART Board Control Panel until VGA-1 is displayed in the upper right corner of the projected image.
  4. If needed, set your laptop to display on a secondary display.

Connecting a Laptop - HDMI

  1. Plug the HDMI cable into your laptop's HDMI port.  If your laptop does not have a VGA port, click on Laptop/Tablet Display Adapters to find out what type of adapter is needed to connect your laptop.
  2. Press the Input button on the SMART control panel until HDMI appears in the upper right corner of the projected image.
  3. If needed, set your laptop to display on a secondary display.

Using the Windows Desktop

  1. Turn on the PC desktop with the power button on the front of the unit.
  2. Turn on the wireless keyboard and mouse using their respective power switches.
  3. Press the PC button on the Extron switcher located in the equipment rack.
  4. If the image from the desktop does not appear, make sure the projector is set to VGA-1.  Press the INPUT button on the SMART Board Control Panel until VGA-1 is displayed in the upper right corner of the projected image.
