On campus, PC folks often refer to their H: drives and I: drives. These letters are mapped using login scripts to different folders on our main file server, Filer. Macs, though, don't use drive letters nor do we have login scripts, so we must connect to the drives manually. These directions will explain how to connect to a network shared drive using a mac.
*Note - these directions will only work on campus, and are not for use off campus. Users wishing to access their "H:" drive from off campus can view directions here.*

1. Click on finder in the dock.

2. In the menu bar at the top of the screen, click Go -> Connect to Server

4. Select the category (volume) you wish to connect to. H: drive locations are found in the faculty, staff, and students volumes. I: drives, on the other hand, are found in the deptlib volume.

5. Once you've selected a volume, you will see all of the folders within the volume. You can only see content in folders that you have been given permission to. Locate the folder with your username or department, and you should see the content in that folder. If you see no content, you do not have permission to access the folder, and should contact the Help Desk at x8340.
